Left-Wing Antifa and Right-Wing Oathkeepers Issue Calls to Action for Trump Rally in Minneapolis

Antifa recently issued a request for its members to form an “anti-capitalist bloc” at President Donald Trump’s upcoming campaign rally at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

“Trump is having a campaign rally in downtown Minneapolis. He wants to keep America great, but America is canceled. Join us to celebrate with an anti-capitalist bloc,” states an anonymous call to action posted on the “It’s Going Down” website, which serves as a hub for “anarchist news and counter-information.”

“Bring yourself, bring your friends, bring your crew and come prepared to disrupt the nightmare that is Trump,” it adds.

In response, the right-wing “Oath Keepers” group is asking for volunteers to “help protect Trump supporters” at the rally.

“The violent communists of Antifa have issued a national call to action for Antifa and other radical, America-hating leftists to converge on the upcoming Trump rally in Minneapolis on October 10 to ‘disrupt’ the Trump rally with an Antifa black block ‘America is Canceled’ protest against capitalism,” the group said on its website.

The group plans to provide “volunteer security escorts for rally attendees as they walk to and from the rally.”

“We are confident that the interior of the venue itself at the Target Center will be safe, but we have serious concerns for the safety of attendees as they walk from their vehicles to the venue, and then back to their vehicles in the dark afterward,” the group states.

President Trump’s rally is scheduled for October 10 at 7 p.m. at the Target Center in downtown Minneapolis, the heart of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN-05) district. State Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka (R-Nisswa) told The Star Tribune Monday that he’s concerned about “senseless” acts of violence taking place at the rally.

“It’s very scary, and that’s what our big concern is. We’ve had hundreds of people reach out to us asking, ‘are we going to be safe standing in line?’” Minnesota Republican Party Chairwoman Jennifer Carnahan said Sunday on WCCO radio. “What we have been telling everybody is that Minneapolis will be the safest place in the U.S. on Thursday, October 10. There are measures being taking, there will be protocols, and we just hope that the Democrats—the people who are protesting—that they make sure to remember that it’s peaceful protesting.”
