NASHVILLE, Tennessee – The favorite retro-rock duo, Hemp & Denim has released a new single, “Stay” for Valentine’s Day. The song is about genuine love and love is what everyone needs right now in this world. The accompanying lyric video for “Stay” is debuting today exclusively to The Tennessee Star and The Star News Network. The lyrics illustrate the hardships and triumphs that come with any loving relationship.
After 35 years of marriage and working together as a duo, Hemp & Denim are reflecting on their romance and are able to share ways to keep the love burning for many years to come.
“There are many factors involved when a relationship is at its breaking point,” said male vocalist Hemp. “This song is a powerful plea to avoid a breakup. There could be promises of a brighter future if only they would stay together.”
“Stay” is the latest single from House of Love, the duo’s first full-length LP. Their debut single “One Step Over The Line” received a Grammy nomination-consideration for Best Americana Roots Song while Stay was considered as Pop Song of the Year. Hemp & Denim also recently appeared on Nashville’s NBC “Today In Nashville” program. They followed this up with “You Take My Breath Away,” another romantic song from the album which received national and international airplay including coverage in Scotland, Ireland, and the UK on BBC Radio.
