Former President Trump Challenges January 6th Committee to a Public Debate over 2020 Election Irregularities

Former President Donald Trump on Sunday challenged the January 6th Committee over their ongoing investigation into the event.

In a statement, Trump argued that the legislators, instead of questioning former Trump administration officials, should examine what “caused” the events.

“While I am willing to do it, they will never agree because they cannot argue that facts in states including Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, New Hampshire, and others such as New Mexico, where the Democrat Secretary of State changed the voting laws without legislative approval just prior to the Election, making it virtually impossible for the Republican presidential candidate to win,” Trump said in a statement.

The lawmakers who sit on the committee, established by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, have targeted individuals who they believe participated in the event.

Recently, the committee called for Bernie Kerik, former New York City Police Commissioner, to appear before the group because they believed he present at a meeting at the Willard Hotel on January 5.

However, the group had to issue a correction after Kerik’s attorney detailed that he was not present.

Trump slammed the committee for calling on Kerik, claiming that that the legislators would be provided with a different set of information.

“The Unselect Committee issued a subpoena to Bernie Kerik, an American Patriot and great former Police Commissioner of New York City, for its Jan. 6th Witch Hunt, but didn’t realize what they were demanding is a massive trove of evidence of Voter Fraud,” Trump said in a statement.

“Bernie wants to comply with the subpoena with a public hearing, and asked me to waive attorney-client privilege so Bernie can testify and provide documents, which I grant him. The Unselect Committee will not like what they asked for!”
