Gosnell: The Movie You’ve Got to See This Weekend

by CHQ Staff

As our friend Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life so succinctly pointed out back in 2013 while Dr. Kermit Gosnell was on trial for murder and other offenses and Fox aired a special on his abortion clinic, “The more people who watch this, the more the true face of abortion is exposed, and the stronger our case when the secular media cover these topics.”

The horrors of Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s abortion clinic and the practices that led to his indictment and trial for murder have long been covered up by the establishment media, making using the alternative media to bypass their attempts at censorship necessary.

The movie Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer is the ultimate means of bypassing establishment media censorship. Not only is it a riveting trial drama, but it exposes the dark truth about the abortion industry, its evil and the amorality of its advocates.

Watch the preview:

For those unacquainted with Gosnell’s story, as NewMax’s Michael Clark summarized it, “For well over four decades, the Philadelphia-based Dr. Kermit Gosnell (a chilling and bemused Earl Billings) provided abortion services to mostly low-income and minority women, all the while being the target of multiple malpractice lawsuits, operational infractions, and his participation as a principal figure in the infamous 1972 Mother’s Day Massacre.”

What makes Gosnell worth seeing, beyond its political point, is that director Nick Searcy and the three screenwriters have created a great “Law and Order” type cop and lawyer drama to tell the Gosnell story.

And as Hollywood insider Christian Toto observed, “Earl Billings delivers an Oscar-worthy performance as the embattled doctor. He’s coy and charismatic, an affable gent just trying to help his patients. It’s the story he’s told himself so often he believes it with all his heart. His indifference is chilling. Billings’ portrait of evil is wildly original and understated.”

The apolitical tone of the film will disappoint those looking for an anti-abortion screed, and the screen writers aren’t shy about portraying Pennsylvania’s former Republican Governor Tom Ridge, whose administration failed to conduct even the most cursory oversight of Gosnell’s clinic, as part of the reason Gosnell was able to get away with his crimes for so long.

That’s not to say there’s no political content in the film, but it is subtle and doesn’t interrupt the flow of what is an excellent crime drama.

As Christian Toto observed:

A few moments flicker with partisan angst. The filmmakers tweak the media’s disgraceful absence from the story by showcasing the empty rows in the court house reserved for reporters. It’s a darkly comic moment, one given the appropriate close up.

Why?

Media malpractice is very much at the heart of the Dr. Gosnell scandal. Conservatives also will cheer a blogger who holds the truth higher than her preferred narratives.

Uri Brito, Senior Pastor of Providence Church in Pensacola, FL made the case for the movie this way:

GOSNELL is a tragically needed movie. It was a reminder that evil can hide its face behind the closed doors of an inner-city facility. It can hide its face masquerading as benevolent community services executed by a classical musician whose fingers ran easily across piano keys by day and instruments of death by night.

When October 12th comes, go watch GOSNELL. See for yourself the logical consequences of Roe v. Wade. See for yourself how America’s biggest serial killer was legitimized, protected and encouraged to continue to murder for decades. It’s time we wake up from our slumber. Human beings are being killed in the name of “women’s rights.” May GOSNELL cry loudly on October 12th and may it cause a nationwide earthquake in the conscience of our nation.

We will be at our local theater to see Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer, we hope to see you there. To find a screen near you click this link or go to http://www.gosnellmovie.com/theaters/.
