During an interview on CNN Thursday, failed 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton called for the “formal deprogramming” of Trump supporters, labeling them as “MAGA extremists” and “cult members.”
“We had very strong partisans in both parties in the past, and we had very bitter battles over all kinds of things—gun control and climate change and the economy and taxes—but there wasn’t this little tail of extremism, waving, you know, wagging the dog of the Republican Party as it is today,” Clinton, 75, told host Christiane Amanpour.
“And sadly, so many of those extremists, those MAGA extremists, take their marching orders from Donald Trump who has no credibility left by any measure. He’s only in it for himself,” she continued.
Clinton, the former first lady, senator from New York and secretary of state under Barack Obama, seemed taken aback that Trump still had popular support amid the regime’s attempts to take him down.
“He’s defending himself in civil actions, in criminal actions … and when do they break with him?” she asked plaintively. “Because at some point, you know, maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members, but something needs to happen,” Clinton declared.
Clinton called on “sane” and “pragmatic Republicans” to work with colleagues across the aisle to shoot down “extreme measures and the people who promote them.”
She went on to say that Trump and his supporters must suffer “defeat” at the ballot box and suggested the regime should only “empower” the “right” kind of Republicans.
“We have to defeat them, and we have to defeat those who are the election deniers — as we did in 2020 and 2022,” Clinton said. “And we have to, you know, just be smarter about how we are trying to empower the right people inside the Republican Party.”

Clinton’s chilling remarks came one day after an exclusive Newsweek report revealed that the Biden administration “has quietly created a new category of extremists that it seeks to track and counter: Donald Trump’s army of MAGA followers.”
The regime reportedly fears that there is a strong potential for “violence and major civil disturbances” surrounding the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
According to classified data obtained by Newsweek, the FBI is attempting to appear nonideological as it conducts “anti-government” investigations into the likely Republican nominee’s supporters ahead what many fear will be another rigged election.
“The FBI is in an almost impossible position,” said a current FBI official, who requested anonymity to discuss highly sensitive internal matters.
The official said that the FBI is intent on stopping domestic terrorism and any repeat of the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. But the Bureau must also preserve the Constitutional right of all Americans to campaign, speak freely and protest the government. By focusing on former president Trump and his MAGA (Make America Great Again) supporters, the official said, the Bureau runs the risk of provoking the very anti-government activists that the terrorism agencies hope to counter.
“Especially at a time when the White House is facing Congressional Republican opposition claiming that the Biden administration has ‘weaponized’ the Bureau against the right wing, it has to tread very carefully,” the official told Newsweek.
From the day Biden took office, his administration has targeted its political adversaries, including those who protested or rioted at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, pro-lifers, parents at school board meetings, traditional Catholics, and most recently, a law-abiding German Christian family that it’s trying to deport.
Joe Biden demonized Trump supporters specifically in a now infamous prime time rant that was aired live all across the nation on September 1, 2022.
MAGA Republicans don’t respect the Constitution,” Biden declared. “They do not respect the rule of law, they do not recognize the will of the people. They refuse to accept the results of a free election,” he added bitterly, referring to the widespread belief the the 2020 election was rigged.
“MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards,” Biden said. “Backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love.”
Continuing his diatribe against fellow Americans, Biden accused them of “promoting authoritarian leaders, and fanning “the flames of political violence,” which of course, is what he was doing by attacking Trump supporters.
“They are a threat to out personal rights and to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, to the vert soul of this country,” Biden intoned.
In a statement to Newsweek, the FBI said: “The threat posed by domestic violent extremists is persistent, evolving, and deadly. The FBI’s goal is to detect and stop terrorist attacks, and our focus is on potential criminal violations, violence and threats of violence. Anti-government or anti-authority violent extremism is one category of domestic terrorism, as well as one of the FBI’s top threat priorities.” The FBI further said, “We are committed to protecting the safety and constitutional rights of all Americans and will never open an investigation based solely on First Amendment protected activity, including a person’s political beliefs or affiliations.”
