Is a protest effective when the subject of said demonstration is out of the state? One could ask U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN).
The Democratic presidential candidate was out of state Tuesday when protesters gathered outside her office.
Mark Zdechlik, a correspondent for Minnesota Public Radio News, tweeted, “A few dozen people are gathered outside Sen. Klobuchar’s downtown Minneapolis office to protest immigration detention camps. The protest starts at noon.”

Why was Klobuchar out of state and where was she?
A campaign press release said it all:

Klobuchar missed the opportunity to connect with the demonstrators.
Zdechlik also tweeted, “A couple of hundred people are now at the demonstration.”

Republican Party of Minnesota Chairwoman Jennifer Carnahan shared her thoughts on the immigration matter in a press release.
“Senator Amy Klobuchar and her fellow Democrats in Washington have repeatedly neglected President Donald Trump’s pleas to address the crisis at the border instead, opting to gain political points. Last week, Klobuchar showed her true priorities when she missed the Senate’s vote on emergency funding on border funding to attend the Democratic Debate for her failing Presidential run. Minnesotans are looking for elected officials who will stop obstructing and work with President Trump and Republicans in Congress to solve our border crisis, and we encourage Senator Klobuchar to join the efforts to do just that.”
