Appearing on Fox News’ Hannity show on Monday, former White House chief strategist and Breitbart executive chairman Steve Bannon told host Sean Hannity “if Bob Corker has any honor, any decency, he should resign immediately.”
Bannon was reacting to a series of reckless attacks made on President Trump by Senator Corker (R-TN), the first coming in several Twitter exchanges with the president on Sunday morning, the others coming in an interview with the New York Times, which released the audio transcript of the conversation.
“In a time of war, we have troops in Afghanistan, in the Northwest Pacific in Korea. We have a major problem,” Bannon said.
“It could be like World War I. In the South China Sea, in the Persian Gulf – we have American lives at risk every day. He tweets on Sunday that it’s like the adult center and somebody didn’t have the morning shift. Then he has the audacity to go to The New York Times?” the former White House chief strategist asked rhetorically.
“These people have no respect for the working men and women in the United States. I tell you what – Senator Corker is an absolute disgrace. And I agree with Jason Miller. He was the comms director on our campaign – I think one of the best comms people around. Jason was on CNN. . . he called for Senator Corker to resign, for the governor of Tennessee to replace him with Marsha Blackburn, a real conservative,” Bannon said.
“If Bob Corker had any honor, any decency. he should resign immediately. He should not let those words stand on what he said about the president of the United States,” Bannon added.
“By the way, he got out because he saw what happened and Alabama. If he wants to, by the way, he should get back in … he is going to get crushed,” he continued.
“Marsha Blackburn would kill him,” Hannity interjected.
“He’s going to get crushed in a primary. He doesn’t have the guts to get back in the race. He should resign immediately,” Bannon agreed.
Bannon also told Hannity that the new MAGA Coalition will be going after every incumbent Republican senator in 2018 “except Ted Cruz.”
He also declared war on the Republican establishment, elected officials and consultants alike:
Karl Rove, Steven Law – these guys should get the joke. Their donors are coming to us because they are tired of having their money burned up by trying to destroy people like Judge Moore.
There’s a new game in town. We are to cut off the oxygen to Mitch McConnell. Mitch McConnell’s biggest asset is the money. We’re going to make it the biggest liability. We are going after these guys tooth and nail.
Hannity asked Bannon, “but does that mean that people that voted in 2010, 2014, 2016, now they have to wait for victory in 2018?”
“It’s a long time for the American people to wait,” Hannity added.
“To take your country back – it’s not going to happen in any just one election,” Bannon responded, adding:
This is something you’re going to have to grind out day in and day out for the next five, ten, fifteen, twenty years.
It took us a long time to get here. There’s no magic wand we can wave and drain the swamp. There’s no magic wand we can wave and blow up this establishment. I hate to tell people, you’re going to have to work.
But you know what? The grit, determination and courage of the American working men and women – we are going to win.

Let him stay in there and get really embarrassed. He really wants to Bob Trump’s Corker.

Marsha may not be the only or the most conservative candidate to replace Corker. She would be better than Corker, but she mbay have stiff competition.
Alas, Marsha is no Joe Carr, but compared to the rogues gallery of critters we have had occupying Tennessee’s two seats in the U.S. senate in our recent history she is a breath of fresh air. Hopefully she is not “scary” conservative enough, and has ingratiated herself with the Republican leadership in the country enough, so that the establishment will not be that motivated to put the resources into defeating her.
BOTTOM LINE: From Corker to Blackburn we move about 25 Heritage Action points to the side of righteousness with a highly marketable candidate on the cheap so we can turn our attention and resources to electing Judd Matheny et al next August.
Voters in Tennessee are tired of eternal politicians After 15 years in Washington , you should be able to show a strong record of conservative votes .. Most of the time ,, going to Washington is only a way to make money and have a good time with the tax payers dollars
If he wants all incumbents out, why is he endorsing NeoCon Marsha Blackburn ?
What? Marsha Blackburn is not perfect but she is definitively the most conservative w/the spine & resume to back it up!
I sure wish people would stop challenging/daring Corker to run again. Tennessee is about to replace a middle of the road corporatist in Corker with Marsha, our first conservative senator in memory and hopefully she won’t be seriously challenged. Can’t we just leave well enough alone?
