More human remains have been discovered in Minneapolis, this time near the Stone Arch Bridge. Crime Watch Minneapolis posted that, “Reportedly a major body part found.” Dismembered human remains were also discovered in mid-June by officials in several locations. According to reports, the head of the person was discovered on a park bench, after different human body parts were found scattered around Minneapolis all supposedly belonging to the same person.

The remains were later identified as belonging to Adam Johnson, 36, of Minneapolis. As reported by The Minnesota Sun, “A citizen walking down a street in Minneapolis stumbled across a human leg, wrapped in plastic, behind the Ukrainian American Community Center. This prompted an investigation where other human body parts were found in various parts of Minneapolis.”

When discussing the initial finds, John Elder, the Minneapolis Police Department director of information, said that, “Parts of the anatomy that we located had they been removed from somebody, they would not have been able to survive.” The initial body parts that were discovered were “fresh” and not decomposed. Supposedly all of the body parts found in June belonged to the same individual, however it has not been officially confirmed.

The police have not stated whether the latest finds belong to that investigation. They have not disclosed what body parts were discovered on Sunday or whether they will influence the ongoing investigation into Johnson’s death. As was reported by Crime Watch Minneapolis, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s office did confirm that human remains were recovered from the Stone Arch Bridge area. WCCO reported that the remains were recovered from the Mississippi River, but no other information surrounding the incident is known at this time.
