Late Rep. Hagedorn’s Family Reportedly Supports Munson, Not Hagedorn’s Widow, in Contest for His Vacant Seat

The family of the late Congressman Jim Hagedorn has donated to, and reportedly voiced their support for, State Rep. Jeremy Munson and not the congressman’s wife, in the contest for his seat.

Hagedorn died in February, triggering a special election in Minnesota’s first district. Among the candidates to emerge in this unusual race are Munson and Hagadorn’s wife and former chair of the Minnesota GOP, Jennifer Carnahan. Despite Hagedorn’s relationship with Carnahan, his family supports Munson.

Mailchimp Suspends Child Protection League for ‘Violating Terms of Use’ After Newsletter Questions COVID Vaccines

Mailchimp suspended a local Minnesota group, Child Protection League (CPL), for “violating” their “terms of use” after they tried to send a newsletter asking questions of the “rush to inject children” with the COVID vaccine. CPL is an activist group that is “committed to promoting the welfare of children and protecting them from exploitation, indoctrination and violence.”

Governor Walz Initiates Special Session, Doesn’t Want to Include ‘Additional, Controversial Topics’

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) says he does not want to include “additional, controversial topics” in a proposed special session. Walz finally made the move to have a special session, something that Republican lawmakers have been asking him to do for months.

In the letter to Senate Majority Leader Jeremy Miller (R-Winona), Walz wrote, “A special session should be focused on areas where we can find agreement, while areas of disagreement can be addressed in the regular session.” The governor is suggesting calling a special session on November 29, if Miller agrees to his terms, which confine the actions of the session to a drought relief bill, a frontline worker pay bill, and a COVID relief bill. Walz is also requiring that the session last no more than three days.

State Senator Jeremy Miller (R-Winona) was elected to replace former Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka on Thursday. In a press conference announcing the decision Miller said, “I’m certainly not the only one that could be standing up here today because of the amount of talent we have but I did it because I know I have the opportunity to unite our caucus and at the same time work together with colleagues on both sides of the aisle in the House and Senate to get things done.”

Minnesotans Organize Protest for Medical Freedom Following Vaccine Mandates for Some Healthcare Providers

Minnesotans are organizing a protest for medical freedom following several Minnesota healthcare providers requiring employees to take the COVID vaccine or lose their jobs. The protest will be held at the Minnesota State Capitol on August 28. Mayo Clinic, Allina Health, and M Health Fairview are three major healthcare providers that will be requiring employees to take the vaccine. The organizers are holding the protest to “demand informed consent and transparency in matters of health choice and medical freedom without coercion.”
