A World-Famous Actress, a Mythical ‘Monster,’ and a High School Election Await Movie-Goers This Weekend

 

Movies to watch this weekend include a movie about a world-famous actress, a kid’s movie where two friends embark on a harrowing journey and a Netflix series about a wannabe politician.

Judy:

This movie chronicles Judy Garland ( Renée Zellweger) thirty years after the world-famous Wizard of Oz movie. Now, she is now going around London selling out shows singing. While performing, she thinks back about her romance with soon to be husband musician Mickey Deans.

Rotten Tomatoes movie critics and fans have rated this movie very well. Critics gave it an 86 percent, while fans scored it an 88 percent. This film opened nationwide Friday.

Abominable:

A teenager Yi (Chloe Bennet) discovers a lost Yeti on her rooftop. The brand new duo goes an adventure to try to reunite the Yeti with its family. While trying to get return the Yeti, the new friends must avoid a zoologist who is trying to capture the beast.

This kid’s movie has been received well by movie critics and fans. Rotten Tomatoes movie critics scored it a 78 percent while fans had the score 10 points higher at 88 percent. This film opened on Friday.

The Politician:

Payton Hobart (Ben Platt), a wealthy student from Santa Barbara, has aspirations of one day becoming the President of the United States. However, he first must maneuver the hard political landscape at Saint Sebastian High School.

Rotten Tomatoes movie critics have given this movie a 56 percent rating. This series opened on Netflix Friday.
