Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) was on CNN anchor Chris Cuomo’s show Tuesday night where she was asked why the Democratic candidates “don’t pack stadiums the way this president does.”
“One simple question: why don’t the Democrats pack stadiums the way this president does?” Cuomo asked Klobuchar just moments after President Donald Trump wrapped up his campaign kickoff rally in Orlando, Florida.

“Oh, but we do. We just have a lot of stadiums we’re packing at the same time with so many people running,” Klobuchar responded. “I think you’ve seen our candidates throughout the years generate that energy and you certainly saw it in 2018 when we took back the House, made it the people’s House again, a number of governor’s races in key states that we won. We had a lot of excitement, high voter turnout—young people turning out like they’ve never turned out before in midterm.”
Klobuchar said she’s “not one bit worried about the excitement on our side.”
“We just have to unite behind a candidate and that’s what these debates are all about,” she added.
Trump claimed during Tuesday night’s rally that his campaign “had 120,000 requests” for free tickets to attend the event.
“Thousands of people are already lined up in Orlando, some two days before tomorrow night’s big rally. Large screens and food trucks will be there for those that can’t get into the 25,000 capacity arena,” Trump wrote on Twitter before the rally. “It will be a very exciting evening! Make America Great Again!”

Monica Alba, a political reporter for NBC News, reported that the Amway Center was “nearly full for Trump rally tonight in Orlando.”
“Normal capacity for a basketball game here = 18,500 and for a concert = 22,000, per venue staff,” she said. “Campaign estimates final crowd size will be somewhere in between.”
