By a quick count of search returns it appears we’ve quoted our old friend Fred Fleitz, former CIA analyst, State Department aide, staffer for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, FOX News regular and author of the must-read book Obamabomb: A Dangerous and Growing National Security Fraud, more than a dozen times in articles on subjects as diverse as Obama’s disastrous nuclear weapons deal with Iran, the war Islam has declared on the West and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
Fleitz was a natural choice to serve as Chief of Staff at the National Security Council when his old Chief, Ambassador John Bolton, was selected by President Trump to head the NSC staff and serve as his National Security Advisor.
In Washington it is often said you are known by your enemies, and if having the Far-Left Southern Poverty Law Center and terrorism front group the Council on American – Islamic Relations after his scalp is any indication, Fleitz has all of the right enemies.
Except in this fight, and with these enemies, the first axis of attack was not Fred Fleitz’s scholarship or policy positions, which are well-known and well respected on both sides of the political aisle, it was Fred’s good name and professional reputation.
No sooner had Bloomberg broken the story of Fleitz’s appointment, noting his latest book is the very timely The Coming North Korea Nuclear Nightmare: What Trump Must Do to Reverse Obama’s Strategic Patience than Far-Left New York Magazine blared the headline “Bolton Installs Anti-Muslim Wingnut As NSC Chief of Staff” and the Washington Post piled on with an article title “New NSC chief of staff is from group that believes Muslims are plotting to take over U.S.”
In our experience Fred Fleitz is no “wingnut” rather he has exactly the same kind of views on national security that Ambassador Bolton holds, and that White House Chief of Staff General John Kelly ascribed to the President: eyes wide open.
The Washington Post article was especially critical of Fleitz’s views on the threat Islam poses to Western society and American constitutional liberty, but in expressing concern that Muslims are increasingly not assimilating into secular American society Fleitz is only taking them at their word.
One need only read the Muslim Brotherhoods Explanatory Memorandum for North America to recognize this danger, and this is no conspiracy theory as Washington Post writers Abigail Hauslohner and Karen DeYoung would like us to believe, but an exhibit in the federal prosecution of the Holy Land Foundation, the largest terrorism funding trial in American history.
Federal investigators found the document in the home of Ismael Elbarasse, a founder of the Dar Al-Hijrah mosque in Falls Church, Virginia, during a 2004 search. Elbarasse was a member of the Palestine Committee, which the Muslim Brotherhood had created to support terrorist organization Hamas in the United States.

“Enablement of Islam in North America, meaning: establishing an effective and a stable Islamic Movement led by the Muslim Brotherhood which adopts Muslims’ causes domestically and globally, and which works to expand the observant Muslim base, aims at unifying and directing Muslims’ efforts, presents Islam as a civilization alternative, and supports the global Islamic State wherever it is.”
Page 5:
“…the Movement must plan and struggle to obtain “the keys” and the tools of this process in carry out [sic] this grand mission as a ‘Civilization Jihadist’ responsibility.”
Page 7:
“The process of settlement is a ‘Civilization-Jihadist Process’ with all the word means. The Ikhwan [Muslim Brotherhood] must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers…”
“[W]e must possess a mastery of the art of ‘coalitions’, the art of ‘absorption’ and the principles of ‘cooperation.’”

“A list of our organizations and the organizations of our friends” – This is where the Muslim Brotherhood listed its front groups in the U.S. Note that prominent organizations like CAIR, ISNA, ICNA and others are named here.
The page numbers above correspond to the page numbers in the center of the bottom of each page in the English translation of the document introduced into evidence at the trial following the original Arabic.
Like we said: Eyes wide open.
Likewise, Fleitz has been attacked for his opposition to the Obama nuclear weapons deal, but the attacks are all strangely lacking in factual or policy arguments, they are all ad hominem attacks labeling Fleitz an Islamophobe, wingnut or conspiracy theorist, without actually offering any evidence that he was wrong about Obama’s disastrous nuclear weapons deal with Iran.
More to the point, Fleitz’s case against the Iran deal supported, with facts and well-grounded policy arguments, President Trump’s decision to abandon the Obama deal and reimpose sanctions on the Islamic Republic because it never held up its part of the bargain – and never intended to.
And that, rather than the liberal fantasy that Fleitz is a bigot, is why the Obama-apologists in the media are trying to destroy him.
If Fred Fleitz, a distinguished author, former CIA analyst, State Department and House intel Committee staffer with decades of public service can be trashed as a bigot for stating the facts of the government’s case in the successful prosecution of the Holy Land Foundation, and destroyed for writing the must-read resource on Obama’s failed nuclear weapons deal with Iran, then no patriot or conservative policy analyst or author is safe from false charges of bigotry in this hyper partisan media environment.

Strategy – for those who are genuinely concerned about the subversion of our Constitutional republic we must dig deeper and understand the full context. Yes, I know, that is a high expectation for a culture mentally conditioned to 5 second “news” snippets of serious events followed by a “And now this…” segment featuring the latest exploits of Skippy the Squirrel. This conditioning of mental sloth, in turn, begat 140 character insults and semi-literate memes tossed out in lieu of stately expressions reflective of our culture, or at least what we’d like to believe our culture is.
But the reality is that simple-mindedness has become our culture. So how do we recapture a more productive and useful dialogue?
Expecting someone else to do the thinking for us while we play is how we got into this mess; and it is only through thoughtful and concisely effective action that will we get out of it. Thinking about the problem is only the first step, but crucial for success.
Put down your phone, turn off the TV, and read a book. Engage in a face to face dialogue with others who do the same then more fully develop your opinion based on the insight gained.
Thinking is not a chore, it’s a pleasure. Resist the temptation to indulge in Huxleyan “feelies” and own up to your responsibility as a citizen. Failing that, you have no complaint about being ruled by your inferiors – it’s what you asked for.
