Gubernatorial Candidate Scott Jensen Writes a Bill That Would Make Minnesota a ‘Health Freedom Sanctuary’ State

Dr. Scott Jensen, who is a Minnesota gubernatorial candidate, wrote a Health Freedom Sanctuary State Bill.

According to Jensen, the bill will create a health freedom sanctuary in Minnesota, so that vaccines and other health measures cannot be forced on constituents, and will limit the governor’s peacetime emergency powers.

The bill will directly prohibit mandatory vaccinations and will not allow businesses or employers to require certain vaccination documents. It will also prohibit school districts from requiring their students to be masked while on school grounds.

Jensen said, “We must not only stand up to the unconstitutional mandates Joe Biden has decreed, but also fully reverse the non-scientific decisions which emboldened him.”

In a video explaining the bill, Jensen said that he does not think that Biden’s orders regarding vaccination requirements are correct.

“I have to push back,” he said. “I don’t think that the federal government’s been given that authority.”

The Health Freedom Sanctuary State bill was introduced by Minnesota State Representatives Mary Franson (R-Alexandria), Eric Lucero (R-St. Michael), John Poston (R-Nisswa), Glenn Gruenhagen (R-Glencoe), and Donald Raleigh (R-Circle Pines).

Three state senators also have supported the bill, including Senator Roger Chamberlain (R-Lino Lakes), Senator Jim Abeler (R-Anoka), and Senator Mark Koran (R-North Branch). Allegedly two more state senators will be announcing their support soon.

Jensen said that calling Minnesota a health freedom sanctuary state would mean that they will push back against the federal government and say, “No, the federal law does not come in. Not on this. We are a sanctuary state because the federal government does not have the authority to do that.”

Jensen said the “narrative” regarding COVID needs to be “dismantled” piece by piece.

He said, “I think that our rights as citizens and our liberties are being intruded on like never before in my lifetime.”

“Our state must assert itself as a Health Freedom Sanctuary State, where people take responsibility for their own health and are not forced to make medical decisions by the government.” Jensen said.

His website also told voters to be prepared for events and rallies taking place surrounding Jensen’s bill in the near future.
