Minnesota Pedophile Sentenced to 24 Years in Jail

 

A Minnesota pedophile was convicted and sentenced to 24 years in jail after he produced child pornography. According to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office in the District of Minnesota, Russell James Anderson-Baldwin, 39, created sexually explicit videos of minors using social media platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, and messaging apps.

Anderson-Baldwin registered as a sex offender in January 2020 after being convicted in Isanti County on three counts of possession of child pornography. He then pleaded guilty on June 22 to one count of the production of child pornography while on probation.

In the latest charges, authorities say that Anderson-Baldwin created 286 sexually explicit videos of the minor in question. He had an additional 140 photos and videos of other minor children on his phone as well.

Anderson-Baldwin will also have 25 years of supervised release following his sentence.

According to the Department of Justice U.S. Attorney’s Office, “This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.”

The website for Project Safe Childhood explains that it is “a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.”

The case was investigated through a partnership between the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office.
