100 parents were reportedly in attendance at a school board meeting in Lakeville, Minnesota on Tuesday to speak out against Critical Race Theory being implemented.
Two concerned parents spoke at the meeting and protested the “indoctrination” of Critical Race Theory and said that Critical Race Theory is opposed to their Christian faith. The couple, Jim and Keisha, said that they were there to speak for the “millions of Black Americans who disagree with the Black Lives Matter movement.”
Jim said that he did not want his four children forced to be indoctrinated by the stances of Critical Race Theory and of Black Lives Matter.
He took issue with Black Lives Matter’s position regarding sexuality and how their agenda to “foster a queer-affirming network” is not something that should be pushed upon young children. Jim also said that he disagreed with Black Lives Matter’s initiative “to dismantle the nuclear family,” saying that a big issue facing Black Americans is the absence of a father in the home.
He continued by saying that he has seen many signs in people’s yards saying “In this house we believe.” He shared that his family will be having a sign in their yard that reads: “In this house we believe that biology is real, all lives matter, crime is illegal, Jesus is life, God is love, unborn babies are humans, truth is everything.”
In the recording of the school board meeting, his wife Keisha can be seen holding a handwritten sign with a quote from Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech.
Former Minnesota Senator Dan Hall was there to support and captured some videos of the testimony against the implementation of CRT.
In a comment to The Minnesota Sun, Hall said “I have grave concerns for our children if any school tries to indoctrinate their students with the divisive CRT (Critical Race Theory). CRT undermines our American values of faith, family, and freedom by breaking down those structures that make us a healthy and strong society.”
Kendall Qualls, a former Republican congressional candidate in Minnesota, also called upon the state to ban the teaching of Critical Race Theory in schools in a recent interview with Fox News.
